2017 Utah State Instrument Championships and Fundraiser

The 2017 Utah State Instrument Championships will take place on June 3 & 4 in conjunction with the Ogden Music Festival at Ft. Buenaventura State Park in downtown Ogden. www.ofoam.org

A special fundraiser will take place on Saturday February 25th in Salt Lake City at The South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society.  The Rail Jumpers, Pixie & The Partygrass Boys, and Moriah Ozberkmen will be performing. Tickets are $15.00 for this fun night of music.  The link to buy tickets is available below.

A very special drawing will take place during the fundraiser.  A mandolin donated by the very talented luthier Sterling Snyder, several handcrafted native American Flutes by Bill Hughes will be available.

There will also be a silent auction for several guitars donated by the estate of John Florence. These guitars will be available to play and inspect at the fundraiser.  A description of the four guitars is provided below.  There will be bid sheets available with a minimum reserve for each instrument.  The bidding will take place from 2/25/17 until 3/5/17 at midnight. Each guitar is provided with a storage case.

Martin OM 28V Vintage Series

Serial # 1191472

This beautiful Martin features the orchestra model body, stylish herringbone purfling, zipper backstrip, slotted diamond inlay on the fretboard, and vintage style open geared tuners. The guitar is equipped with a dual sours under saddle and microphone B-Band pickup. There is an expertly repaired crack on the lower face of the guitar from the a string pin to the tailbone.

Martin HD 28 Sesquicentennial Edition (1833-1983)

Serial # 442436

This guitar was crafted to celebrate Martin’s sesquicentennial year. The guitar features Martin’s powerful dreadnought body, herringbone purfling and zipper backstrip. The guitar is in excellent condition and ready for someone who love’s Martin’s legacy and sound to take home!

Serial # 830071 (2001)

This guitar is in excellent condition. 12 strings give the already powerful dreadnought style body a full and beautiful sound.

 

Goya G-10

Serial # 386617

This Swedish made Nylon String guitar has been well seasoned and broken in for a full and rich tone. As you might expect for a guitar made in 1959 and well loved and played through the years since then it has some wear and tear but all issues have been fully repaired and the guitar is ready for another half century of love and music.
